A MOMENT OF TIME

A moment of time,
That's all I ask,
A moment sublime
To share the task,
A moment spent in love's sweet glow,
A moment of time,
Before we go.

The starship waits upon the hill,
While with joy, our minds we fill,
A moment now is all we dare--
There isn't time enough to spare.

When I awaken from my sleep,
The loneliness makes me want to weep,
But then I smile as I recall
The dream that wasn't a dream at all!

Reason and logic laugh, it's true,
But my heart knows the reality of You--
So for a few hours at night I fly
Back to my Beloved's home on high,
Knowing that when the mission's complete,
He is the first one that I'll meet.
